Blah...

**After reading this, I am afraid it sounds REALLY grouchy, so be ready. You may think differently of me afterwards, but PLEASE don't. Don't say I didn't warn you though.**

I am posting again today to let everyone off the hook that hasn't commented on my WW yet. I am doing you a service of not gagging everyone out including me. I had to stop the "ya'll are so cute, pretty, look like sisters" comments. I mean I LOVE those!!! They make me whole year. To even be considered in the same league as my Bestie Anna is a GREAT honor. (Am I going overboard??) ANYWAY, What are you suppose to say to a picture of 2 grown women hanging over a (yes Flip Flip) church nursery door. I LOVE that picture. It is one of my favorites. Truly. It is time to move on to......well other things. After reading this next post, you might be WISHING for the WW picture to comment to. Oh well. Here goes.

Today is blah. It's funny though. I don't "feel" blah. I mean I do, but I don't. My body feels fine. Great in fact. I just have had a weird day. I know most of you think that I am this always fun, happy go lucky, smilin' all the time, AND I AM most of the time, today though, not so much. The SUPER funny thing is I have NO reason to have a day like this today. It has been good. I wish I could say that I was PMSing, but I can't. That would make the most sense to me. Here are some GREAT things about my day that should pop me right out of my mood.

1. I am STILL in my pj's at 2:40 in the afternoon. WOO HOO!

2. BOTH of my kids at home are napping right now!! YEAH!

3. I just made some coffee. See, that is weird for me though. If I have coffee, it is in the morning. NOT the afternoon, it just sounded good today. Warm. STILL I am freezing. I have turned my heater down to almost off because our electricity bill was $415.00 and I about freaked OUT!!! So we are in freezing mode and coffee just sounded good to warm me up.

4. Did I already mention that I have 2 kids sleeping behind me!! It is going on 2 hours now!! Yipee!

5. I have gotten a few loads of laundry done AND cleaned the kitchen without interruption.

See, aren't those great things? Yet, when my husband called about an hour ago (I was already blogging and the kids were already down) he asked me what was wrong. I know I sound blah. I just can't. snap. out. of .it!! I hope it gets better. Maybe when I get the girls from school I will get out of this funk. Does anyone else do this? I have SO many things to be in a happy mood about and I KNOW it. I just can't seem to actually do it.

  • I think we all have moments and days like these, it is part of being human I think! I know I can feel like this and have no idea why! sometimes I get over it quickly and sometimes I have to make a conscious (sorry I can't spell!) effort to not stay there. Putting on Praise and Worship music usually helps speed the process along as I get my mind/feeling/thoughts off myself and on to God!
still really like ya, don't feel any different towards you either!

  • I'm sorry! I know what you mean though. We all have days when we are just in a funk. I don't know why either. I am sure every reader can relate!!!

BUT YAY for PJS! YAY for kids NAPPING!!! AND YAY for afternoon COFFEE!!! I'd have a cup with ya!

You should call when your in a funk! I'll try and help!

  • I think most of us have felt this way at one time or another. If it persists, it could be depression, or a chemical imbalance, or even dietary - if your diet is out of balance, that can throw off your glucose and seratonin levels. But sometimes it is what it is - and you just have to let the mood ride itself out. Don't compound it by adding guilt (why can't I snap out of it? I have so much to be happy about, etc.). Sometimes, it's okay to just say "I feel blah. so there." Hopefully tomorrow will be better. Keep us posted. (hugs)

  • That just makes you normal!! We all have days like that! Of course, it is easier when we can blame it on PMS though! ha! I get the "winter blues" b/c we are stuck inside so much! Don't sweat it, as women I think we all do it!

Off the topic - check out my post today when you get a chance. It is similar to the situation your daughter was in with the boy in her class. Maybe it will help ease your mind or guide you in the decision of taking it to the office or not? :-)

  • We all go through days like this. I have them. Just feel in a funk. It oK your doing all the right things. LOVE the being in the PJ's thing. I sometimes do that on a wet cold day. Oh I love coffee all times of the day. Now dont feel bad for feeling bad.
Wow the heating bill is big. With that Im sort of glad it doesnt get that cold here. Cheer up honey.

  • I think it's because you're a woman. We do this kind of thing. Get down for no reason. Although, let me tell you, I'm in my pj's at 2:40 on most days! LOL. Although I've gotten up and ready for the last 3 days! I think that's a record for me.

  • Awe (Hugs)!

I had one of those days the other day just blah for no reason.

I hope your day gets better.

  • Well, I think your post sounded upbeat but I totally know what you are saying here... I am the same way... sometimes more days than not! What is it? Maybe it's fatigue and just the wear & tear from being a mom. A girls night out might be in order soon for you, missy.

  • I think that blah days just come natural in life...no rhyme or reason. I mean I'm sure even "Mr. Rodger's" had his down time!! I say, just smile about the little joys of life and maybe tomorrow will be a better day.

By Blogger marykathryn, at 5:19 PM

  • We all get days like that. They suck, but they happen.

By Blogger Beck, at 5:22 PM

  • I've had a lot of those blah days lately. I agree with the others...being up and warm and fuzzy all the time isn't normal. Here's hoping tomorrow is a better day!

  • I'm a very happy go lucky kind of gal myself, yet I've had days like that. It's okay to have an off day. Kids sleeping, blogging, coffee in the afternoon in pjs - all good. Like Lala's world said - I pray and play some worship music and dance away the blues. For me that's what works. Here's praying for a better day tomorrow.

  • I know you have heard this before but it is a universal feeling :D

I have my worst BLAH X millions of such days too but ultimately at the end of the day, it's blissfully nice with nice comments from blog buddies like us to perk & cheer you up!

Have a nice day ahead Nicole!

By Blogger Shionge, at 7:16 PM

  • OH yeah! I hear ya Nicole! Im a pretty upbeat gal myself, but sometimes I fight those blahs! So I understand. It seems that they always come out of the clear blue....hmmmm well I dont know... sometimes they dont. I guess sometimes I just need to break out of the same old grind. Sometimes its just as simple as that for me...I hope you feel much better tomorrow! *muah*

By Blogger Trina, at 7:27 PM

  • I think if you didn't have days like this you WOULDN'T be normal. I have days like that regularly. haha!!! Just kidding...but I do have them occasionally. I love you when you are happy & I love you when you are having a bad, grumpy day too! Grant it...I may not return your phone calls on your grumpy days..but still. ha!! KIDDING. You better brighten up before school tomorrow!! LOVE YOU!

  • I hate it when I feel blah for no good reason too.

By Blogger Gina, at 8:12 PM

  • Hmmm, if my heating and electrical bill was $400+ , I'd feel blah too ;)

I hate having those days. I'd rather feel blah and have a reason..something concrete to point to and say, "yup, thats why."

By Anonymous Anonymous, at 8:40 PM

  • I have days like that, usually when its cold outside. Hope tomorrows better

By Blogger Holly, at 9:37 PM

  • Well, the bad day didn't affect your running - 3 miles in 27 minutes tonight while pushing Jude in the new jogging stroller was pretty dang good! And I just totaled the miles for the first month @ 52! That's a great start, especially considering how many bad weather days we had. Love you and hope you're feeling better!

  • Hey...thanks for popping by my site. I've had you on my fav's for awhile now. Love your site-it's adorable! I've posted a couple of times but have looked more than I've posted. :-)

By Blogger CG, at 10:25 PM

  • Sorry girlie. I have days like that, too. No fun at all. I still think chemicals in the body and hormones can fluctuate even if it's not related to a monthly issue.

I'm basing this entirely on the fact that I want to believe it even though I've never heard anything to back it up. ;-)

You're probably already getting depressed about the fact that you won't be able to write your upcoming weekly article about everything we said when we talked at church.

You don't know this yet, but we're already so close I'm sure you could sense it...I won't be at church on Sunday.

    I know!

And people all over the country (and Canada) were already buzzing about what we would talk about. We just need to go ahead and get the word out to the people that I'll be in Flower Mound this weekend. I don't know if you've read the posts about Miss Lin, but she has a heart defect. We've got a doc appt in Ft.Worth and plan to go towards Dallas to see Grandma for the weekend.

So that's where I'll be. Don't write a post about how I slept in and obviously don't love God.

    Thank you.

  • I don't believe you either.

By Blogger Terri@SteelMagnolia, at 1:18 AM

  • I don't believe any of you.

But if I did you'd have a big hug from me. I have blah days and end up in my jammies and robe until the afternoon sometimes too. It seems to happen more during the winter for me. In fact, today was a blah day for me - and I found out that mine and my daughter's primary care doctor is leaving - this after she accepted my very medically complex daughter - she is just leaving.

Scrapbooking or doing other arts & crafts (and spamming blogs) helps me cheer up. My therapy!

I freak out when my electric bill is over $150 - I'd be way more than blah over your bill. ((hugs)) Maybe being cold is messing with your peppiness? (is that a word?) Anyway, nobody can be fun, happy go lucky and smiling ALL the time.

I love all your pictures. You are a very pretty and friendly-looking gal. You know... not all pretty gals are that friendly - some are snobbish - but you don't seem like that at all.

    Hang in there!

  • I have those days too Nicole...

Today we are having PJ day in homeschool! It is a great excuse to not have to get everyone ready and dressed and the kids love it!

I know, I am a freak! Great post.

    PS...I don't believe you.

  • It's 4:10pm and I'm still in my jammies...
but I do have my makeup on...

I think it's great once in a while to be a "slacker mom". (Well.. as much of a "slacker" that you can be w/ a 20 month old toddler)

It's Thursday, so I still don't believe you!!!

By Blogger Terri@SteelMagnolia, at 6:12 PM
