Favorite/Daily Beauty Items

Elle Bee has tagged me for this meme. BUT - I thought it would be interesting to do it as a Thursday Thirteen. It will be my first one. I thought it would be fun to see what everybody uses to get ready everyday. THIS is what I use:

1. Daily Facial Cleanser: OK. Don't laugh. I use Neutrogena Oil-Free ACNE face wash. IT is orange and everything. It is the ONLY thing I can use on my face without it breaking out. I love it though.

2. Exfoliant: St. Ives Oil Free Apricot Scrub, cheap but works on this "great" skin I've got.

3. Toner: Again for my "amazing" skin (HA) I use Neutrogena Clear Pore Oil Controlling Astringent.

4. Daily Moisturizer: Co. Bigelow No. 301 Deluxe Facial Moisturizer. I LOVE this. It makes my face SO soft.

Now for the fun stuff! :)

5. Concealer: Mary Kay's Signature Ivory concealer. It is the only concealer I use that I like. It is also the only thing Mary Kay that I like. Since I don't use foundation, concealer is my only way of hiding my, shall I say "flaws".

6. Powder: Cover Girl Fresh Look Transparent Fair. Could this powder be any cheaper. One of my friends a LONG time ago said that she only uses this powder, and now I'M hooked. LOVE IT!

7. Blush: MAC ONLY!! Here is where I get picky. I LOVE MAC make-up. It is the only thing that I am excited about my parents moving. There is a MAC department in the Dillard's there. So anyway. I have 2 colors that are my favs. One is Harmony (peachy) and the other is Dame (pinky).

8. Eye Shadows: AGAIN MAC only. I have so many colors, too many to count. So my favs right NOW are Vanilla (EVERYDAY!!! I always wear this one), Jest, Woodwinked, Expensive Pink.

9. Eye Liner: MAC again. I love their Powerpoint Eye Pencils. They stay on really great and are super creamy. My favs. Bordeauxline (purple), and Stubborn Brown (dark brown).

10. Mascara: Back to the cheap stuff. I have never understood the idea of getting expensive mascara, even though I know people who do and love it. I use Loreal Original Voluminous. So if you were wondering how I got my eyelashes so FULL looking (I just KNOW you were! - Don't be embarrassed.) now you know.

11. Eye Brows: Well, before when my hair was really blonde, I used to have to fill them in some with some MAC eye shadow. Now that I have darker hair, the hair lady just dyed them too. I DO use an old toothbrush to tame them down. CHEAP!

12.Shampoo: Pantene Extra Straight. I love Pantene. I've heard it isn't good for your hair, but it has ALWAYS done great for me.

13. Conditioner: Pantene again. I usually use the one for color treated hair even on my kids hair.

So there you have it. Feel free to write out what you like to use. I LOVE make-up. It is just fun to me, so I would love reading what everybody else is using. Even if it is 2 things.

  • I used to LOVE MAC makeup! But living out in all these small towns, I haven't had access to it...I'm so excited you mentioned it because we have a Dillards30 minutes away!! Woo Hoo! Of course, I'm going to check out my fave site for the toxin levels, but don't worry, I won't tell you what it says :)

  • I sell Mary Kay part time..so I use everything Mary Kay....I use Aussie shampoo and conditioner...same with Madison. I use Suave...cheap mousse...and mess up to calm down the wild hairs......I use a $100 flat iron on me and Madison....

  • I'm always suprised when I'm at your house to see how many of the same grocery items and household products we buy. But now here are some other things in common: same mascara, concealer, shampoo and conditioner and I used to use the same cleanser and toner (now using L'oreal). I don't use MAC, but I do remember a fun girl trip for one of your birthdays (we won't say which #) when we had to make a special trip to the MAC counter where you and your mom spent an eternity and a small fortune! :) Fun post - and now we know why you always look so cute!

  • I've never even heard of Mac makeup! But if I had money to splurge, I'd buy everything clinique; I love their foundations and concealers. For now, it's strictly Loreal and Cover Girl!

  • 1. Cetaphil. Good stuff and it's cheap!
    2. I just add some baking soda to my cetaphil once a week. I'm cheap.
    3. I don't!
    4. Oil of Olay, just like my compltely unwrinkled mother.
    5. Maybelline Age Rewind stuff.
    6. I don't. But I'd like to again.
    7. Um, it's really cheap and sort of pinky brown?
    8. Ummmm, I don't know? I have lots.
    9. Geez, I apparently don't know my eye makeup brands.
    10. L'oreal something or other.
    11. Believe me, my eyebrows do not need to be DARKER.
    12. Head and Shoulders.
    13. Pantene!

  • I'm with you on the Neutrogena acne wash!! Love it!! I don't use an exfoliant...my skin breaks out really easy..so I have to be careful what I put on it. I just wash it & use my Klaron prescription acne eliminator!! It is a medication & moisterizer..so it works good.

    I use Beauty Control foundation...its awesome & evens out my not so even tones on my face. Ick.

    No powder...I use a light bronzer & a little bit of blush. The bronzer is Physicians Formula..and I love it!

    My blush is Cover Girl..cheap I know..but I like it. And I honestly don't use it that much..so I don't care. ha!

    My favorite 2 eye shadows are currently from Clinique. Love Clinique.

    Eyeliner & mascara are both cheap..so much so that I have no idea what brand they even are!!

    I am using Biolage shampoo & conditioner right now..trying to get my hair healthier..so I splurged.

    Did I just write out a post...on YOUR blog or what?? SORRY.

  • Here is my list:

    AcneFree (3 step knock off from ProActiv)

    BareMinerals (Foundation and the Warmth for my cheeks)

    Avon on everything else! It's cheap and I just happen to be an Avon lady! The eyeliners are my fave because they don't melt into my bags like many other expensive brands do... what can I say, I must have oily eye bags or something!

    I like Pantene too... I've heard that rumor you mentioned, but I've never been disappointed.

  • I love Mac too, but I'm also a Clinque nut. I used Pantene until I kept getting build up on my hair (I have pretty thick hair), so now I use Herbal Essence... I think its a bit cheaper too!

  • Okay, I am a maybelleine girl for my mascara. I use very black.
    I wear more make-up, but I will leave you with that this morning..lol.

    For my facial cleansing regimine, I joined the "Principal Secret" from off the infomercial. Im still in the newbie phase with it all, but its fun having it delivered to my home. Makes me feel a little pampered.

  • I LOVE hearing about what other people use on their face! I use a little of everything...Neutrogena moisturizer, Almay foundation and powder and Arbonne eye shadow, which I love! I may steal this one for my Saturday 16!

  • I'm one of those girls that enjoys make-up, but hates change. What I mean is I get in a rut and go basic with a little mascara, small dab so blush, lipstick and lipgloss. And when I want to get real "gussed up" I put on eyeliner. It's sad really, oh yeah and did I mention I apply my make-up in the car while driving? I know, I know.. I need help!!

  • That's a lot of stuff! LOL

    Ok, well, I sell Mary Kay so everything I use for my face is MaryKay and I love it. I couldn't sell it if I didn't. My skin is a million times better than it was 6 months ago.

    Face:
    In order of application...the 3-1 cleanser, eye firming cream, even complexion essence, day/night solutions, the moisturizer.

    Makeup:
    All the MK makeup of course, foundation, bronzer, blush, eye shadow, mascara, eyeliner and brow liner. Love them all. And the best part is, that my skin is in such better condition that I can go with little or no makeup and not feel like a troll anymore.

    For my hair:
    Pantene Red Expression shampoo and conditioner. I was also using the Pantene spray leave-in conditioner but I can't seem to find it anymore. So today I got a Biolage one from the salon after my haircut. Then I use John Frieda's red glaze on my hair a few times a week... keeps the color vibrant. Then I use Fructise styling products. Favorites are the smoothing milk and the water based wax/pomade stuff, the mousse and hairspray. Love it all.

    Body, I found a new body wash that I'm in love with... Softsoap's Pure Cashmere. LOVE IT! I use a body lufa (sp?) now and that with the body wash means soft skin for the first time in my life. And I use a great lotion but forgot the name... it's a Suave lotion though... for dry skin. Works great.

    I think that's all my beauty stuff. Whew! That's a lot!

  • What a great post! I'm always looking for some new stuff to try. Right now I use Arbonne's Re9 skincare and Love it! I'm a new user of it as of earlier this month. I use Mary Kay makeup but need all new stuff so I may try some of the MAC. Shampoo is Big & Sexy and Matrix Amplify. Also use Bed Head Peppermint hair mask.
