How Dare He!!!

So there I was today jogging around our neighborhood. Well, really walking AND jogging I should say. It is the second day of my "goal" and I was SO proud that I was doing my 3 miles for the SECOND day in a row. (Yeah! I know! IMPRESSIVE!) I started off jogging and had stopped to walk a block and then started back running and was REALLY feeling great about it. THEN.... This young guy came ZOOMING passed me with this LONG stride. I just felt SO STUPID!! I tried to keep myself pumped up (I mean I AM exercising), but the whole rest of the 3 miles I thought about that GUY!!! Who does he think he is? Someone who is in shape? Oh yeah. He's right. But did he HAVE to glance back at me with that little smirk?

  • LOL He was probably jogging slower than you until he realized there was a pretty girl jogging up ahead. Then he kicked it into high gear so he'd look "cool" as he passed you. haha Don't feel bad friend...kudos to you for getting out & exercising. =)

  • Hey, he was probably one of those ACU cross country guys that won nationals this year! Don't get discouraged - use it as motivation. And remember it is only your second day back at it - you'll get faster. You inspired me to do my 3 miles after work. Thanks!

  • I would take that one of two way's either he was checking out a "MILF" or he was challenging you. Somtimes if I'm bored and need to shake things up or if I can't seem to get my heart rate up. I'll pass another runner and and turn to challenge.

If I was checking out a "MILF" my wife just has the abilty to sense that.

Way to go with the return to running!! What is your goal time with 3 miles?

  • Ah, man I'd feel insecure too! I'm glad we don't have a large running population around here. I've never seen anyone else out when I'm out.

  • I think that the guy was just being a little boy. We all do it. Continue with your jog and let your health motivate you and perhaps one day when the young guy is jogging along you can give him some tips on life.

  • oh how I long to get back into my running...

Impressive just that you've been striving towards keeping it up (especially in January)

I agree with Anna -- he probably rounded a corner and fell into a bush gasping for breath!!

    Blessings,
    Karla
