Super Bowl Party

Tonight for the Super Bowl, we had our small group from church over. NOW, this group is HUGE on dressing up. They have had and 80's party, and goofy Christmas dressing up party, and I'm sure I'm leaving something out, but you get the drift.

We have been in this small group for several months and we didn't dress up for the Christmas party. When we walked in to that Christmas party, the disappointment on people's faces made me PROMISE myself to never NOT dress up for one of these "parties".

For tonight, we were suppose to dress up as
ANYTHING having to do with football games. It didn't HAVE to be Bears or Colts, just football. I was SO close to calling my mom and having her send my twirling uniform, you know the one. It looks like an old one piece swimsuit with sequins all over it. I knew there would be food and I didn't want to ruin anyones appetite though, so I never made the call. That said, here are some pictures from out Super Bowl party tonight at our house.

We had some great "outfits" in the guy section.

(LEFT TO RIGHT)
Brandon was the Referee. They put tape on his black shirt. VERY creative.

Chad is holding Ava. She was a little football player. He was the Team Doctor. Look how smart he looks!

The 2 sitting in the middle of the couch were just people watching a game on tv at home. They totally fit that part, huh?

Zach (standing) and his brother Landon (seated on the right of the couch) were the Trainers of the bunch. Glad they were there to make sure we had our cups of water!

And then there is Glen the one in the grey t-shirt. He had just played football with the guys today and stayed in his football playing garb. WOW!! He stretched it on that one huh?

The girls were SO creative I thought.

(LEFT TO RIGHT)
The one that left the bathroom with toilet paper hanging out of her pants and has mustard on her shirt, but no one wants to tell her - That's Kara!! Look at her face. WE laughed and laughed about that face that she is making. And she is holding the toilet paper, like she just found out!! SO FUNNY!

Sarah is the football going through the goal posts. How cute is that? I think she won the prize. I mean - She painted her FACE!!!

Can you guess what I am? HMM..... I bet nobody can guess it. I am the Cheerleading Boot Camp Sargaent!!! You know like the one on Dallas Cowboy Cheerleaders show!! Come on guys!!

Next is Kate the drummer. She actually played these in High School and I was SO impressed at how she could rock it out on those things! She gave us a demonstration. VERY COOL!

Whitney is next. She is the cutest football player EVER!

And of course the other Sarah was a Bears fan. (Which was easy for her because she REALLY IS!!)

And of COURSE I sent my kids to bed before taking their pictures. What a good mom I am. The girls were cheerleaders. (Hello, my cadets!!) and Jude believe it or not was just a little boy in plain clothes. He woke up about 20 minutes before people started coming over and it was just too late. OH WELL!!

The Colts won. I'm bummed, but I still had fun.

  • We used to do fun super bowl parties before all our friends moved away. We just hung out here, just the three of us.

You look so cute as usual! Love how creative the gals were!

  • Oh, it looks like you all had so much fun!! I'm going to have to remember that idea about dressing up for future games.

    And...the Colts won, so you're BUMMED!?!?!?! ;p

    I am, of course, ECSTATIC!!

  • LOl good on you guys. What a hoot. You all seem like you had a ball.

  • Oh Wow! I'm overwhelmed and didn't realise the 'magnitude of celebration'.....that is awesome and everyone is so sporting.

Thank you I'm really WOWED!!!! :P

  • That is awesome!!! I went to a party at one of my girlfriends tonight and when we were in college, we always dressed crazy and went out. Someday I'll have to scan pictures from one of the nights out we did and post them. (Actually, we did go out for halloween this year)

    Everyone was so creative!!!

  • That party looks very fun. We get the game here live (5 hours time difference) but we dont get any of the commercials. BUMMER! I really miss those but I will be watching them on YOUTUBE or some other interenet way today.

Anyhow I like the original costume ideas....

    Have a great one!

  • No Super Bowl party here. Just myself banished to the basement. I actually watched the whole game. I only fell asleep during the half-time show. Also, no mustard or food on my shirt either.

  • Sounds like a good time by all....

  • That's cool. Love the football in the goal posts and the girl with tp and mustard!

  • TOO cute!! I told you that you could borrow Kirk's Cowboys jersey & Dylan's helmet...now THAT would have been funny. Not only did the Cowboys already lose out...but the helmet would have been too small & made you look "special". hahahaha! There were some very creative costumes, I was impressed! Looks like you guys had a blast!! Love ya!

By Blogger Anna, at 8:23 AM

  • Good grief, you have a cute group of friends. THat's so much fun - I don't like sports but even I think that looks like a good time!

By Blogger Beck, at 8:28 AM

  • OK Nicole, I will cease to "stalk" and actually comment. The party was very fun and everyone's costumes looked great. I tried to get Brandon to wear a blindfold so he could be the blind referee, but I guess you can't sit through a whole game with a blindfold on. And your kids looked adorable as little cheerleaders!

By Blogger Kate, at 8:41 AM

  • okay...the women totally ROCKED the dressing up task..the men? not so much.

    you look adorable!

  • Looks like you had fun. We never dress up but what a fun idea. Super bowl parties are always fun. Thanks for sharing the pictures.

  • hahaha! the girls picture turned out great! I didn't realize how lame the guys were until comparing the two pictures. We are for sure the more creative of the crew.
When I got home, I realized I had mustard in my hair and on my fingers! I got a little out of control.

I am glad you had fun even thought your team didnt win!!!

By Blogger Lindsay, at 11:19 AM

  • How fun!! I would love a group of friends that wanted to dress up!! I totally don't see our friends here doing that. We live in small southern illinois, but these girls are always done up!!!! I can not see any of them painting their faces like goal girl! Everyone looked soo cute!! I'm totally jealous, although I did have a great time at the party we went to plain clothed.

  • It looks like y'all had a great time! I have to admit I was rooting for the Colts, b/c I like Peyton Manning. As a New Orleans native, it was nice seeing someone with ties to our city win the game.

By Blogger Elle*Bee, at 11:57 AM

  • I didn't get a chance to watch the game, I fell asleep after DA Bears made that awesome run into the end zone!! My hubby was cheering on the Colts so I made him take me home (we were 2 hours from home!) we didn't finish watching the game to say the least. I have a good excuse, being stuck all day on Saturday in Chicago of all places!!

I like the dress up party, I've gotta have some more of those!

By Blogger Shash, at 12:32 PM

  • Looks like a great party! I don't do football so I watched some LOST on DVD and ate brownies my mom made (with caramels in the shape of a horseshoe, she was rooting for the Colts). ;) I'm such a party pooper!

By Blogger busybusymomma, at 1:40 PM

  • what a blast! I love dress up parties! J's team was the Bears too, so he was totally bummed

By Blogger Lala's world, at 2:01 PM

  • Looks like you all were very festive and had a wonderful time. I love what I could see of your house:) Looks pretty together to me. I would have loved to see a picture of you in the twirling outfit. Well maybe not because I am sure you would still look as great as you did in High School which would make me sick. Love ya!

By Blogger Erica, at 2:13 PM

  • Sounds like a great time...what are your kids ages? Just wondering....Madison is 9 and will be 10 next month and Miller is 14 months....I always want to know how old kids are.

By Blogger Jen, at 2:34 PM

  • Looks like it would have been a blast! I've always wanted to do, or go to a party lkike that!

By Blogger Nikkie, at 3:07 PM

  • I'm so impressed! Last night about 6 p.m. I asked Ironman, "Is it Super Bowl Sunday because I've hardly had any traffic on my blog."

    He said, "I don't know."

Then we turned on the t.v. and saw Prince singing at half time. You may be the person to ask...was it really raining? If so, why did Prince and the dancers look dry...yet they were splashing in water and the camera looked like it was wet? I'm so confused.

Anyway, we had no idea where it was being held or who was even playing. We're no fun at all.

By Blogger Flawed & Disorderly, at 4:09 PM

  • What? You were at a football party and you didn't wear MOJO outfits!! Just Kidding! I loved your outfit. I was so addicted to that Dallas Cowboy Cheerleaders show. I even watch the reruns. I know, I'm pathetic.

By Blogger Cherise, at 5:31 PM

  • sounds like a great time! Great pics! I loved em! The toilet paper things was pretty fun! I love the dress up idea! too fun! By Blogger palmtreefanatic, at 5:35 PM

  • Great pics! Looks like you had a blast! How did you manage to keep all 4 kids asleep through the whole party? Way to go!

By Blogger L-Girl, at 5:46 PM

  • You are soooo my kind of girl!!! WE had a superbowl party here as well, but it was for men only. I just dont think most of my friends would dress up though. I wish you had got the twirling outfit, and im sure you would have looked amazing! Dont you run daily? Pleeeeease!! lol

By Blogger Trina, at 9:49 AM

  • Wow girl, look at all of these comments!

I'm NOT a football fan at all, but I watch the Superbowl and since my husband is a HUGE Bears fan, I tried to be somewhat supportive and wear orange and blue. Good 1st quarter, crappy rest of the entire game :( I really like the field goal girl, that is so cute! I know who you were too, I've said it before, I'll watch almost any reality show, that one included. You look way cute! I like your brown hair.

By Blogger Kik, at 10:26 AM

  • That is "super" cute (get it, super as in super bowl) LOLOLOL, I know I will stop

By Blogger Tasha, at 3:39 PM

  • These pictures rock! I had so much fun, even though my Bears lost. There is still next year, right. Anyways - thanks for hosting it. It was a blast!

By Blogger Sarah, at 12:04 PM

  • I like the idea of dressing up! I should remember that for next year. We always through a church party for our youth, I can do a contest! You will have to post the parties that you have with your small group so I can get some ideas too!

I'm sorry someone let you some bad comments. People can be so rude. Don't feel bad about protecting the security of your blog. I am the same way.

By Blogger Staci, at 12:44 PM

  • Looks like a great time was had by all!
