Weird & Rude Comments

Last night I had some weird and honestly quite rude comments left on my blog. That has never happened to me before. 2 of them were from "someone" that supposedly "has" a blog, but doesn't really post. And then 2 of them were left anonymously. They were from the same person though. I know this for a fact and it is a secret how I know.

Now my friend Anna is thinking more than likely she is not going to blog anymore. I totally understand her reasons and back her up ALL THE WAY. I am going to miss all her posts though if she does quit. She has a very unique blog and I always look forward to seeing what she is going to post. She has been leery of blogging in the past and I don't blame her for not wanting to anymore. There are security issues involved also. I just have a hard time letting someone ruining blogging for me, so I am not sure that I am ready to quit.

I just can't believe that there are people out there just trying to be rude and hurt people's feelings. So.... you will notice that I have made it to where you cannot leave anonymous comments & also I am moderating all the comments. So if you were wondering, that is why all of a sudden you can't access Anna's blog AND my comment section is different.

  • They are blog trolls and they lerk nice fun blogs and try to bring the fun out of them becasue they are unhappy people!
    I am so sorry this happened to you and Anna, I am so upset about it. I had the same issue happen a while back ( i told you about it) and it does make you feel violated and hurt. Please tell Anna that we will all miss her if she leaves!
    Please donot take what those trolls said to heart, you are too sweet and wonderful and they are probably just jealous at all the wonderful bloggy cyber friends you have!

  • So sorry for all the problems. Some people just don't know how t be polite or act like a reasonable human being. I hope you don't stop blogging. I have loved getting to know you and Anna. I check in on ya'lls blogs everyday just to get to "talk" with an adult hehe. Talking with a 4 year old gets repeatitive sometimes hehe.

    Whatever ya'll have to do, do it for safety.

  • Grrrr...Im so sorry to hear all of this nicole. I think moderating your comments is a great idea, and I would do the same thing. Im so sorry to hear about Anna not blogging, I really enjoyed her blog! But you have to do it or not do it for all the right reasons for yourself.

    I think people do become jealous and misery loves company. Im glad that you are continuing to blog and I sure hope that she didnt take any of it to heart. She is awesome, as well as you!

  • I'm so very sorry that happened to you. I was wondering why I couldn't check Anna's blog. I hope she doesn't give up because of a few crazies out there.

    I know how much I appreciate it when someone leaves a positive, encouraging comment.

    My mom always said, if you don't have anything nice to say, don't say anything at all.

  • Wow, I had no idea that happened to you. Do you know this person or was it some blog troll looking to cause havoc on random blogs?

    I am glad that you aren't going to stop blogging. I enjoy yours and Jennyhaha's posts.

    I may follow your lead and take the same privacy precautions. It's just too bad that the world has come to this. I have seen "advertising" on a couple of memorials for children who died from their congenital heart defects. I mean, c'mon! Don't these people have any type of ethics?

  • I was wondering where Anna was? That totally stinks. I've had rude comments before as well, but you just have to dust it off & keep going. You can't let others predict how you live your life or blog, because if you do, they win. I think it's a good that you have made the changes on your blog. That way nothing gets by you. I hope you continue to blog & tell Anna I hope she comes back too! Ya'll are both too sweet & I enjoy getting to know you.

  • I waswondering what had happened. I think that it is very wise to take precautions and be safe. I am so bummed about that. It upsets me that there are people just waiting to hurt others and cause trouble. I really enjoy visiting both of your blogs.

    Please let Anna know that we will miss her if she stops! i am with one of the other commenters...you all have great, clean, fun blogs and it would be a shame for all of us to miss out on that!

  • Awww thanx guys for all the nice comments about me & my blog. I am just still undecided on what to do. I am pretty sure IF I continue, it will be invite only. I just haven't figured out how exactly to do that...but I think I have to have everyones email addy's...which is a PAIN! I haven't deleted my blog yet, I am still just deciding what to do. And just because it says "invite only"...don't think I haven't invited any of you! I don't even know HOW to invite people yet! LOL

  • I HATE the internet trolls. they make some of the best bloggers go away. I am so sorry to here that there may be some security issues going with it...A few bad names and comments we all can deal with but when it comes to safety thats a whole new story. I often think about that with my girls too. I give their names and pictures...I am sorry I never read Anna's stories but it seems like she will be missed. Hope it gets better soon.

  • That's rotten, so sorry! I know what you mean though. I haven't had too many problems with rude comments, only a couple mildly irritating ones, but it's got me to the point that I cringe whenever I see one marked "anonymous" The rude ones never have the guts to sign a name and they're always anonymous.

  • I saw yesterday that you were moderating your comments and I think that's great. I have no idea why people find it necessary to say rude or inappropriate things on other people's blogs, especially when it's like none of us really KNOW each other, ya know? (ok, well some people do, but I'm sure that they're not the people we're talking about here).

    I also went to check Anna's blog yesterday and saw the "invite only" thing and I thought that I had been ousted! hahaha I'm really sorry this happened to you guys. I've only had a couple of random comments on mine, but I felt weird when they came. They were from men. Not that men can't blog, it's just that when they leave a weird comment it's much creepier than a woman leaving something. Anyway, I love both of your blogs and I think you girlies are great! I hope everything works out well for you guys!

  • That's horrible! I hope it won't affect yours & Anna's blogging! I think it is proper blog etiquette that if you don't have something nice or helpful to say, then DON'T COMMENT, you know!? I often read posts that I don't agree with or maybe don't approve of, but then all I have to do is *click the x on the page and close it!* I am so sorry someone was rude to you- there is no reason for that at all!

  • That happened to me on my old blog. I got many rude and threatening comments and some people at my work found out about it so I had to start over and create a new "identity". There are too many haters and freaks out there and you have to be careful what you post. I don't post pics of me or my family anymore and limit the personal information.

So - this may be a dumb question but I'm still learning all the in's and out's...can you delete other people's comments? when that happens can you remove them?

  • I had some really rude comments on my blog the other day. Almost cruel. SOmeone said I was so ugly I should wear a papr bag over my head. They also said they didn't want to be part of my lameass blog. Funny thing is I keep tracking them and they come back like 5 times a day! WEIRDOS!   • Sorry to read about your blog trolls (ugh, I'm gone a week and miss a lot, sorry!) I've never been hit by any yet (knock on wood) I've seen other blogs where the author takes on the trolls head on, sometimes very creatively. You're good readers will back you up. :) If nothing else, just hit the delete key and ignore them. It's YOUR blog after all. :)

  • That's the whole reason I made my comments so I have to review them before they are posted. Some people can be so rude, but you have to just let it go. One girl emailed me several times with abuse. All over something a friend of mine chose to wear one day. yep, people are rude for no reason.
