Christmas was GREAT

Christmas was so much fun this year. It was just us and the kids. No other family was here. I felt a little weird about that, but it turned out to be great. We woke the kids up after I heard someone sneaking down the stairs (Bailey).

The kids were excited about their loot, but mom always has to have that Christmas morning picture!! :)

Avery's favorite thing was her pink cell phone and polka dot suitcase.

Bailey's favorite was her Academy gift card and a black knitted hat.

Parker's loved her Heelys.

Jude's favorite was his animals and the "big one truck" he asked Santa for.

We went to Cindy and Dennis's for Christmas lunch. Their daughter Tracy was in from DC. She is SO great with my kids. We always have fun at their house!

I talked to my mom Christmas day and she said it was my first Christmas without her there. I was OK until that moment. It just made me sad. I told her 31 years was an awesome run!! :)

I hope everyone had a Merry Christmas!!

  • Ya know what? We always have to go to Scott's parents at 9am on Christmas morning at it stinks because I cant spend that morning with MY kids alone. Guess it will be this way for awhile. I wish I could change it without hurt feelings...but it has always been this way.

Your pictures are great...I'm so glad someone else got to do this though.

  • Staying home on Christmas Day was something I NEVER got to do. It was always travel, travel, travel. So treasure the years you get to do that. I know it's hard to not be with parents though. This was the first year I didn't see my mom on Christmas Day and I too cried. Changes with holiday routines are hard. Your pictures are precious!! Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

  • I love your Christmas pictures. It looks like your kids had a great time enjoying each other and their gifts. Taralee was away from home for the first time this year, too. We missed them so much that we just drove up there on Friday after Christmas. It was great to surprise her. We got to wake her up from a nap and she was so happy to see us!! Trace kept the secret really well. Fun times! Merry Christmas!

  • I love Christmas Morning pictures. They define "JOY". Happy New Year sweet friend.
By the way, we are meeting up with all of Wade's family in Abilene this week-end to celebrate a late Christmas. I don't know what all is scheduled (I'm not in charge) but I'm pretty sure we will be at Highland for church. Which service do you attend?

  • Glad you had a good Christmas! I am lucky that both sides of our family live within 40 minutes, so that we can see MIL on Christmas Eve, stay home all Christmas morning, and spend Christmas day night with my parents. There is definitely something special about Christmas morning in your own home. I can't imagine it any other way!

  • We always have Christmas morning at our house, and I love it that way. I just always like the kids waking up in their beds, and coming out & enjoying Christmas morning in our home.

I'm so glad you guys had such a great Christmas! I can't wait to see Parker on her Heely's. Aren't those the one's w/ wheels? Those things would scare the crap out of me. I fall enough with no wheels. ha!

    Love ya!

Looks like you had a good Christmas. This was my first one away from my family too. It was rougher than I thought! Luckily they drove up to Utah and surprised me. I was so happy.

  • How Fun! It looks like you guys had a great time, even though the whole family wasn't together. I was just glad that I got to go home for a few days and then up to Utah to visit and go snowboarding with Taralee. It was so much fun to be back in a familiar place. Oddly, I was excited to come back to NY for school though! haha
