Avery's first day of MIDDLE SCHOOL!

OH MY WORD!! I have a middle schooler!! Avery started her 6th grade year at her new school today. We are sending her to a Christian school in hopes of smaller classes and good influences. Avery was VERY excited and a little nervous, but overall could not WAIT to get there this morning. I was so afraid of her waking up crying not wanting to go, but she was all smiles.

6 fingers for 6th grade (Yes I made her do that!! :)

She was SO cute last night telling me that a cool thing that middle schoolers and high schoolers are doing is tying a ribbon around their ponytails. I had noticed this before, but never thought twice about it. She asked if I would do a "half way up" and tie a ribbon around it. She picked her outfit out and had it all laid out last night. She wanted biscuits for breakfast and made a biscuit sandwich for lunch (one of her favs).

I have been praying for her all day and trying not to stress out. She is just so precious to me and I don't want her to ever hurt, ya know. I am hoping her middle school career isn't like mine. I hope for better for her. I can't wait to hear about her day!!

  • Avery is adorable and the sweetest girl ever. She is seriously SO pretty. When I was in 6th grade...don't even get me started. (Buck teeth, no fashion sense, slicked back pony tails, and KEDS white shoes...not so cute.) I hope she had a good first day and made lots of friends. I'm sure she did.

  • Hi! Your hubby dropped off a package for me tonight. Morgan was going to be in your class at YCW, but I had to keep her at RBS for the extended hours. I had taken a new job in town that was 1 day a week from 9-2:30 and then the school where I've worked the last 2 years, told me I could work there 1 day a week instead of 2, so I kept that job.

Middle school? Oh' such a fun but often uncertain time!

  • Hey girl! Long time no comment. I can't believe that your daughter has grown up so much. Doesn't time go by so fast? I actually remember when I started 6th grade at Taylor Elementary! Hope you all have a great school year. Is my sister behaving herself?

  • I love tying ribbons in my hair. Seriously even at college everyone was doing that. It didn't help with people mistaking my age tho...they thought I was still like a freshman in high school...not college. I'm cool.

  • Hey! I was just thinking about you and wanted to say hi. This is the only way I know how to contact you. I'm the lame-o cousin that doesn't have your email address or phone number.
    Hope all is well!
